Seedorf
The unparalleled nature reserve of the Reuss delta invites people seeking peace and quiet to spend their time on the shores of the Lake of Uri. Rare birds and plants have their habitat in this area.
It is 125 years old, meanders like a millipede up the Gotthard massif, crawls away into tunnels and crosses the highest railway bridge of Switzerland: the Gotthard railway line - created by humans, surrounded by wild nature.
The idea of the forest school Uri is to inform children, teenagers and adults about the functions that a forest has, as well as to sensitise them for its problems. The forest school aims to make people aware of the importance of a forest - especially if it is a protection forest - as a crucial constituent of this habitat and hopefully can fill that role also in the future.
