Gurtnellen with its hamlets Intschi, Butzen, Männigen, Plattli, Buchen, Dorf and Wiler is situated amidst an impressive alpine world.
From a touristic point of view, Gurtnellen can offer the visitor a beautiful mountain scenery. Picturesque places of excursions can be reached on numerous hiking trails in an untouched countryside. Especially known for hikes, ski-hikes and mountain hikes are the Arni, the hamlet Gurtnellen-Dorf and the Fellital. The mountain lake (Arnisee) high above the upper Reusstal is accessible by cablecar from Amsteg and Intschi.
