Sisikon, the gate to Uri, is situated on the upper shores of Lake Lucerne on the famous Axenstrasse (a road cut into the cliffs) and offers numerous possibilities for outings. From the village you have a fantastic view of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
From Sisikon you can reach the historical sites of original Switzerland by ship, train, car or on foot via the "Swiss Path". The Tell chapel is still a very popular destination for visitors from far and near. Every year, thousands of people surge to this idyllic place on the shores of the Lake of Uri. Another attraction near Sisikon is Switzerland's biggest chime, which is located on the "Swiss Path" - a place with symbolic character. The chime can be put into operation by everyone daily from 9 a.m. every first ten minutes of an hour.
In a few minutes' time a cable railway takes you up to the Axen, from where you have a beautiful view of the Alps. Besides being the starting point for hikes/ski-hikes in the valley of Riemenstalden, Sisikon offers a camping site and the opportunity to do water sports.
