Realp is Uri's highest located municipality and offers both in summer and winter a selection of sports and leisure-time activities. It is the perfect place to spend your active holidays or to enjoy some idle hours.
Golf course, steampowered trains, ski lifts, alpine huts and, above all, large expanses of unspoilt nature - the pretty mountain village Realp is small, but rich in attractions. Realp with its 200 inhabitants is either the first or the last village in the Ursern valley - depending on whether you arrive from the canton of Valais or the other direction. Since 1981, there is an all-year passable railway connection between Uri and Valais, thanks to the base tunnel from Realp to Oberwald. Motor vehicles can be loaded on a train in Realp. Uri's highest located municipality on 1,550 m above sea level is an ideal point of departure for the crossing of diverse alpine passes by car, motorbike or bicycle.
