Attinghausen is situated on the Gotthard route, slightly raised on 470 m above sea level. From here you have a beautiful view over the Reuss valley, the lake of Uri and the mountains in the Schächental.
Summer
Due to its central location Attinghausen is the ideal starting point for walks, mountain hikes or excursions in the Swiss central region. The wildly romantic Lake of Uri with its many water sports opportunities is in the immediate vicinity. The paradise for hikers in summer: You will find a large number of well-marked and well-maintained hiking trails and cycle paths, guesthouses and barbecue sites for families. Attinghausen is the point of departure for the famous hiking trail over the Surenen pass to the village Engelberg with its outstanding monastery.
Winter
A hot tip is the Brüsti, which is a place where snow is almost guaranteed. It offers perfect conditions for skiiers, snowboarders and ski-hikers.
