1st Stage: Klewenalp–Gitschenen

You comfortably get to Klewenalp (1600 m above sea level) by cable car from Beckenried. You then follow a small mountain road down to the restaurant Tannibüel. There a sign post marks the beginning of the ascent to Melchgädeli, Alp Stafel, Hoch Stand and along Chälenegg to Hinterjochli (2105 m above sea level).

2nd Stage: Gitschenen–Isenthal–Biwald

From the valley station of the cable car Gitschenen (990 m) by St. Jacob in Isenthal, you hike through refreshing parts of the woods down the valley to the romantic Chimiboden (1206 m above sea level). Pass a stone hut (1400 m above sea level) the route crosses the Wilderbutzenstafel. You walk further on a good mountain path until reaching the tourist restaurant of alp Biwald (1694 m above sea level).

3rd Stage: Biwald-Sassi Ridge-Musenalp

Through huge stone blocks, then over averagely steep alpine pastures, you hike upwards to the panoramic Sassi ridge (1,868 m above sea level). Likewise, you change from Isenthal's big valley over to the small valley.

4th Stage: Musenalp–Bärchi–Bauen–Eggberge

Accomapnied by the Chlitaler creek, you hike from Musenalp to the mountain village Isenthal via Chlital. An access road lined by woodland takes hikers leisurely upwards to the other side of the valley over the Hintere Bärchi to the Vordere Bärchi. A viewpoint with a unparalleled panorama of the early Switzerland.

5th Stage: Eggberge–Schön Chulm–Lidernen

After the mountain station of the cable car Flüelen–Eggberge, you follow the supply road and ascend to the striking Hüenderegg(1874 m). After Flesch lake (campfire site available) comes the 'Chalber' meadow and then the terrain changes.

6th Stage: Lidernen–Rossstock–Biel

Clearly visible sign posts point the route from the Lidernen hut to the natural dip of Oberhüttli. Over the saddle of Mälchbödeli you follow the exposed ridge of Rossstock (only for those not afraid of heights). It starts with a descent through a steep gully down to Ober Frutt then followed by a direction change to Kinzig pass (2073 m).

7th Stage: Alp Biel–Chinzigpass–Geiss Ridge–Ratzi

From Chinzig pass (2070 m) you start first with a short descent towards the Alp Chinzertal. After 100 meters, turn right and take the white-blue-white marked route to the east in the direction of Gamperstock. At the beginning the trail strenously leads the hiker over pitted terrain and into a sensational unparalleled lime landscape.

8th Stage: Ratzi–Balm–Klausen Pass

Through sparse mountain forest, you follow from Ratzi (1520 m) the sign posts of the popular Schächentaler mountain trail. This starting point can also be comfortably reached by cable car from Spiringen. Always present on the opposite side of the valley is the immensely steep north wall of the Windgällen-Ruchen chain of mountains.

9th Stage: Klausen Pass–Wannelen–Unterschächen–Haldi

From Klausen pass you ascend over several water sources and interesting karst terrain to Chammlialp (2,049 m). After crossing a moraine, you follow a somewhat narrow and exposed trail to Oberalp. A steep zigzag trail follows further up to Nideralp. Those who wish to end the tour, can use the cable car at the subsequent Alp Wannelen (1,624 m) down to the bottom of Unterschächen valley.

10th Stage: Haldi–Bälmetergrätli–Öfeli-Ronen–Strengmatt

From the mountain station Haldi, you reach the ski house Oberfeld through Studenbergliwald (45 minute-walk). From here follow the path to the back of valley and the side road Pfaffenwald (1,460 m above sea level). Accompanied by the clear view of the lake of Uri, you begin a steep descent until Butzenboden and Bödmer under the Hoch Fulen, then upwards until the ridge of Bälmetergrätli (2,252 m above sea level).
